Project Description
Another painting from back in the day, circa 1998 I think. Unfortunately, what you see here is a very low resolution photo of the actual painting which hangs in my mother’s home.
During that time, I worked heavily from photo references, particularly fashion magazines like Harper’s Bazaar. I couldn’t afford figurative art classes let alone the money to pay for a model, so for me the next best thing were photography magazines. I went through a phase where a good portion of my work leaned toward a fashion-centric direction and this is an example. The original piece was painted in acrylic using a dry brush technique on a 4×3 foot illustration board.
